I haven't released a blog in a solid month y'all. "Life be lifeing", but here we are.
Setbacks have a way of making us question everything from our plans, our worth, even our ability to bounce back. But what if a setback is just life’s way of simply pressing pause? A forced break to rest and reflect, before stepping into something even greater. That's what happened for me. (not to me)
Sometimes, life will snatch the chair right from under you, and for a quick second, you're just there… laid out, wondering what just happened. A sudden job loss. A relationship ends. A plan unravels. Your car breaks down, etc. And you think, "Well, isn’t this just great". Okay, let’s keep it a buck you probably used some other choice words. I know I did lol
But what seemed like a loss in the moment was really an open door in disguise. And now, here we are stepping confidently into fresh starts and new chapters. Proof that endings are often just the beginning of something better. Sometimes, we get so locked into the plan we made that we ignore the fact that our plan isn't really working anymore. We become stagnant, losing our sense of purpose or passion, simply because it’s comfortable. That setback was actually necessary, however that doesn't take away the emotions that came with it.
So, after sitting in those low feelings for a while, joy creeps back in. (Well, it didn’t creep for me, it kicked the door down you hear me,) That undeniable, unshakeable joy that comes from knowing you are exactly where you’re supposed to be. Not because everything went according to your plan, but because you chose to embrace the unexpected with an open heart. You’ve welcomed newness, not just in work or relationships, but in mindset. In knowing that resilience is actually a gift; one that keeps you moving forward with not one reason to look back.
And Another Thing ...let’s talk about the importance of community in moments like these. The people who remind you that even when life shakes things up, your people remain steady. Doors close, but better ones open. People exit, and somehow, the right ones enter. And in the in-between, you realize just how solid your circle is. Shout out to MY PEOPLE. I love y’all so muchhh!!
When you know Who’s you are, you can release the need to have it all figured out and allow God to do what He does. My faith never wavered, and I pray yours doesn’t either.
So, here’s your reminder: What you once considered a setback might have been life’s way of making room for something better. I’m learning more than ever to shift my perspective in realizing that what felt like a loss was actually an opportunity. A chance to pause, breathe, and reroute.
The season is changing, so let’s spring forward. You’re right where you need to be.
Resilience looks good on you!!
xoxo

James 1:12
"God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."
May we all welcome the newness of the unexpected ✨
